IF you have what it takes to tickle the taste-buds, please the palate and create lipsmackingly good food, now’s your chance to prove it by entering the Hereford heat for the county cookoff, part of the Allpay Flavours of Herefordshire Festival.

Hereford City Council is managing the Hereford heat on behalf of Visit Herefordshire and invites you to bring along your ‘Ripe and Fruity’ fruit pie, ‘Truly Scrumptious’ foodie gift preserved in glass or your child’s ‘Decorated Cupcakes’ to the Farmers’ Market in High Town on Thursday, October 25, no later than 10.30am ready for judging at 11am.

The winners of each category will be asked to repeat their dish and take it to the Shirehall on October 27 to be judged with other heat winners.

Anyone wishing to enter must complete and return a registration form no later than Friday, October 12.

Registration forms and full terms and conditions are available from the city events assistant on 07805 199013, or by email to cityeventsassistant@hotmail.co.uk If you think you know a good pie when you see one, visit cafeatallsaints.co.uk for a list and map of participating cafes, restaurants, pubs, delis, butchers and shops.
