Farmers' Markets and Cafe@All Saints unveil reward card
7:50am Friday 6th July 2012 in Food & Drink
IF you’re in the centre of Hereford on Saturday or any Thursday in July, pay a visit to the farmers’ market in High Town and earn yourself a free cup of coffee.
Herefordshire Farmers’ Market Association has teamed up with Café@All Saints to offer a little something extra with your shopping.
As part of a promotion to encourage shoppers at farmers’ markets to extend their shopping, Herefordshire Farmers’ Markets have launched a Farmers Market Loyalty Scheme. Shoppers who carry the loyalty card and shop at a minimum of four different stalls across the market can earn themselves a cup of coffee at Café@All Saints in Hereford.
The partnership demonstrates the importance of the market to other Hereford businesses.
“The market gives people an extra reason to come into the city centre, and a reason to stay a little longer and browse,” said Bill Sewell, owner of Café@All Saints. “We are delighted to work alongside the farmers’ market and look forward to welcoming some new customers to the café in All Saints Church.”
The Passport Loyalty cards are available from any stall at Hereford farmers’ market or from Café@All Saints.
“With this new loyalty card we hope customers will be encouraged to visit some of the new producers at the Hereford farmers’ markets,” explained Kate Tudge of Herefordshire Farmers’ Markets Group.
One such new producer is Marietta’s Imaginative Gourmet who started trading at farmers’ markets this summer.
Marietta trained at UK CordonVert school of cookery and the products on her farmers’ market stall include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, all made with fresh local produce, organic where possible.
She specialises in a wide selection of pies, pasties and pastries, including leek, apple and mozzarella parcels, gorgonzola and fennel parcels, golden spicy butternut squash filo parcels, spicy triangles with chickpeas, chana dall and potato, spinach and coconut curry. Marietta also caters at events and provides cookery demonstrations.
