THE Herefordshire Farmers’ Market Association always has a busy December with extra Christmas Markets added to the regular weekly and monthly markets across the county, however, their thoughts have already turned to the New Year and encouraging the markets to grow in 2014.
“We always have plenty of producers wanting to trade in December in the run up to Christmas,” said chairman David Griffiths, “and local people are very supportive of the markets which is why we are now asking our customers to tell their friends about the Markets”.
The Farmers Market Association has recently launched a Recommend a Friend Campaign which includes an incentive to sign up to their email newsletter – once 1000 people have signed up to the mailing list one lucky person will receive a voucher worth £35 to spend at the Farmers' Markets."
If all the regular customers who shop weekly at the markets could encourage five friends to become customers in the New Year then 2014 would see considerable growth in the markets, adding an energy to the centre of towns.
