LAST year, Herefordshire barbecuers The Beefy Boys made their debut at food and music festival Grillstock, and finished seventh in the competition.
Before they head off to this year’s Grillstock in Bristol on May 11-12, The Beefy Boys are at The Jailhouse this weekend for Soul Food Sunday, which will also feature a chilli eating competition with a £50 cash prize, all against a soul and Motown soundtrack.
Enthusiastic and talented, The Beefy Boys aren’t professional chefs. Murf and Lee Symonds are better known as the owners of The Jailhouse, while Dan Mayo-Evans is a company director at Cellar Gas and owns The Railway Inn at Dinmore.
Two years ago Dan and Murf began developing recipes and honing their skills, before running ‘popup’ stalls at The Jailhouse and at charity events, Soul Food Sunday will open 8pm until late. Entry is free before 10pm and £3 after.
Visitors to the club must be aged 18 or over.
