HATTON Country World, near Warwick, has been transformed into a magical Christmas delight this festive season with both the farm village and shopping village offering special events for children wanting to see Santa and adults looking for stunning Christmas gifts.

Santa Claus arrives at the farm village on November 28 and children can visit him in his grotto every weekend from 10am and 4pm and every day from December 17-24 where his friendly elves will be on hand to help distribute gifts and look after the reindeer. The fun continues with festive fun fair rides, adventure play and, new for 2009, Hatton’s reindeer hunt with prizes for finding Santa’s reindeer hidden around the farm village. And if you need a break indoors, admission includes free entry to the indoor Bouncy Barn play area, undercover JCB Young Drivers Zone and Children’s Christmas show and disco.

Once again, the shopping village is staging its popular late night shopping evenings and themed weekends where shoppers can enjoy a traditional pig roast and hot roasted chestnuts, free mince pies and mulled punch, and the chance to join in carol singing. This year features actors from Carpe Diem Theatre in Stratford, who will be producing a traditional nativity show complete with animals from the farm village. Farm village staff will also be joining Carpe Diem actors in portraying Dickensian street scenes, including a Victorian policeman, pickpocket, match girl, beggar and a solider home on leave.

To get even more out of the festivities, the Advertiser has teamed up with the popular attraction to offer readers the chance to win a fabulous hamper with seasonal treats from Hatton Farm Shop and an annual pass to the farm village.

Marketing manager Carol Blower said: “Hatton Shopping Village lends itself perfectly to a Christmas atmosphere with traditional Victorian redbrick buildings and cosy alleyways. With a country location and free parking it provides a relaxed way to shop with more than 20 independent shopkeepers offering antiques, homeware, jewellery and an array of individual crafts and gifts which can’t be found on the high street. There is also a traditional sweet shop and farm shop bursting with delicious seasonal favourites.”

Late night shopping evenings will take place on Fridays, December 4 and 11, when the shops will be open until 8pm. Special festive weekends will run from Saturday, November 28 until Sunday, December 20.

The free traditional nativity shows, which will also include staff from Hatton Farm Village, will run twice daily at 12.30pm and 3pm on weekends and from December 17-24, as well as 7pm on late night shopping evenings. For a detailed programme call 01926 843411 or visit www.hattonworld.com.
