HAS Pieman totally flipped I hear you all ask?

Well, while I've always had a slightly mad streak, the answer, in this instance, is most definitely not.

Still basking in the glory of Monday's amazing victory at Vicarage Road, I decided to go for a celebratory pint or ten (six to be precise)!

Myself and Mrs P have temporarily set up camp out in the sticks, and village life being like it is, they are prone to doing occasionally mad things like celebrating Christmas in August!

I kid you not. I walked into the bar (dressed in the obligatory yellow shirt ,of course) only to find the bar staff dressed up as Santas, complete with a Christmas tree in the corner. It was bizarre to say the least, but it was a bloody good celebration!

Those of us Vic regulars haven't had much to cheer about in the past year or so, but Monday was special - in fact, absolutely ****** fantastic!

Once the shock had subsided, I spent several hours smiling to myself, and just recollecting how the Golden Boys had systematically ripped apart those poor Sky Blues. Christ! It could have been TEN.

Smudger and Danny were blinding, the great Dane and Glassy were class, Robbo was, well - just Robbo, and Hyde conducted proceedings like a director who was shooting the perfect coaching video.

But football being football, reality soon returned when I remembered that the Hornets are on the road again on Saturday (think Leicester, think Pompey and you'll understand my concerns).

Next up are the Canaries, who came so near yet so far to play-off glory a few months back, but they have forgotten about that now and made a great start to the new campaign.

Apparently, Nigel Worthington (remember him? He nearly had a punch-up with Vialli last season) has played an unchanged side in their five games to date, and that means old-boy Clint (what silly haircut will he be sporting this time around?) Easton will be crossing swords with his old side again.

However, much has changed since Pompey (it's called five goals), so the confidence will be high, and, for the first time this season, we can justifiably expect Ray's boys to put in a decent performance on their travels.

Prediction: If the Hornets can carry on their performance level from Monday, they will return with at least a point - I hope!?
