ANYONE with a hidden longing to be an author, or who has a novel in the drawer that needs a bit of polishing, will want to sign up for a creative writing day at Hereford’s Castle House Hotel.
Author Sophie King, whose books include the best-selling novel The Wedding Party, will be holding a special workshop day.
As a creative writing teacher both at Oxford University and privately, Sophie has written How to Write Your First Novel, and will be helping with hints and tips on writing well and getting published As a journalist, writing as Jane Bidder, she has written for The Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Woman, Woman’s Weekly, My Weekly, Good Housekeeping and many other national publications.
She has interviewed a wide variety of people including, among numerous others, her childhood hero David Essex, actor and traveller Michael Palin and actress Julie Walters.
Other Sophie King titles include The School Run, Mums @ Home, Second Time Lucky and The Supper Club.
The workshop is on Tuesday, May 25, from 10am to 3pm and costs £50 to include a twocourse lunch.
