ODDSOCKS theatre company will be applying its trademark madcap, slapstick style to The Merry Wives of Windsor at Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School on Friday, February 3.
And they will be taking inspiration from the teenage revolution of the 1950s and the Soho coffee bars which saw the birth of rock and roll.
But as Merry Wives is Shakespeare’s frothiest comedy – essentially the first sitcom – it will be set in a TV studio and the audience is invited to imagine they are watching a live recording and join in accordingly.
Lots of fun is promised so there’ll be no call for canned laughter.
Oddsocks fans know to expect surprises and Merry Wives is no exception.
Actors Avita Jay and Taresh Solanki will be bringing some Bollywood glamour to proceedings and lending the show a Kumars at No 42 meets East is East feel.
Tickets are available from the school on 01432 347503.
