Free festival promising a fantastic musical line-up at Monmouth

8:00am Saturday 24th July 2010

NOW in its 28th year, this year’s Monmouth Festival, one of the biggest free festivals in the UK, promises to eclipse even the huge success of last year’s event.

On the line-up set to play the main stage in the town’s Blestium Street car park are big name acts including Dave Finnegan’s Commitments, Chris Jagger’s atcha and the Ronaldos. Music in every genre can be heard at the Three Horseshoes and St Mary’s Church, including Feliks Tabis Gypsy Jazz Ensemble on Wednesday, July 28, and singersongwriters Olivia Perry and Ben Huws the previous day.

Pontnewydd Male Voice Choir make a welcome return on Friday, July 30.

A highlight of the week is sure to be number one tribute band, the Rolling Stoned on the main stage, featuring the talents of the aptly named Mick Jaguar and Keith Retched, and Welsh rock band The Automatic and the energetic Uncle Funk are also on the bill.
