Youth music programme, Livewire, back by popular demand for half-term

LIVEWIRE, the youth music programme, is back by popular demand this half-term with an array of specialist music worshops for young people in Herefordshire.

The workshops will be hosted by professional artists The Anomalies, Dubmerge, Drumlove and Molara and include coaching in guitar, bass, drums, vocals, MCing, DJing, scratching, lyric writing, song composition, drumming, hip hop, soul singing, and band development.

They run from noon to 5pm, February 15 to 19, at £2 per day.

Livewire is a great opportunity for those looking to make a name for themselves or their band at Hereford’s pioneer live music venue The Jailhouse.

Workshops come to a close with the Livewire gig on February 21 showcasing upand- coming home-grown Herefordshire talent.

Participants in Livewire 2009 were full of enthusiasm and energy.

“African drumming was awesome, Molara’s singing was extra awesome, the band work was a new experience and I found confidence in singing exercises and inspiration for new songs, Livewire was something different and a great idea,”

said one.

To take part in Livewire 2010, call Nicky or Mina at The Music Pool on 01432 278118 or email musicpool@btconnect.com.

Workshops are open to all, regardless of experience or ability, but places are limited so early booking is highly recommended.
