Enjoy choral works and join in, too

1:57pm Thursday 2nd July 2009

THE North Hereford Massed Choir, originally formed by Paul Emery in 2005 to raise funds for the Tsunami Appeal, is reconvening to perform a concert for the Italian Earthquake Relief Fund.

It will take place at St Mary’s Church, Kington, on Saturday, July 11, at 7.30pm.

The provisional programme will include works by Vivaldi, Parry, Faure, Vaughan Williams and Handel.

Rehearsals, at which anyone is welcome, take place in the upper room of the Baptist Church, Bridge Street, Kington.

Anyone who buys a ticket – at £8 (£5 concessions) – will be welcome to bring along their own copy of Messiah and join in the final item, The Hallelujah Chorus with the choral forces on stage.

Alternatively, you can purchase a workshop or scratch-choir ticket for just £3 and take part in some of the items, namely Cantique de Jean Racine by Faure, All in the April Evening by Sir Hugh Robertson as well as Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

For further information contact Paul Emery on 07831 557949.
