Gilbert & Sullivan Society extend their range

1:45pm Thursday 2nd July 2009

THE Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Society, fresh from their triumphant production of The Mikado at The Courtyard in March, return to the venue on Saturday, July 4.

They will present a concert which is an exciting mix of well loved choruses and solos from popular light operas like The Gondoliers and HMS Pinafore, to modern shows like Wicked and Hairspray.

There is a particular emphasis on younger members at this concert, with 11-year-old Megan Dennis singing the beautiful Colours of the Wind from Pocohontas, Tom Snee (Nanki-Poo in The Mikado) singing Close Every Door from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Laura Durman (Yum Yum in The Mikado) singing a beautiful operatic aria by Catalani, as well as other youngsters joining for choruses from Oliver!.

Together with lively chorus harmony numbers and solo performances from Alan Durman, Linda Jackson, Peter Rowberry and Gill Haslam, the concert offers something for everyone.

Tickets are £10 each, or £9 for concessions. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555.
