ONE of the UK’s most versatile and best-loved actors, Timothy West, will star in Terence Rattigan’s equally well-loved The Winslow Boy at Malvern Theatres from Monday, June 29.
Ronnie Winslow, a 13-year-old naval cadet, is falsely accused of theft, and his father and sister take matters into their own hands to prove his innocence and to restore the honour of their family's name.
Based on a real life legal case, The Winslow Boy is an astonishing drama about injustice, the force of the establishment and the power of one family's love and belief in the truth.
Timothy West’s recent stage credits include most recently Alan Bennett’s The Old Country, Death of a Salesman, Macbeth, King Lear at the National Theatre, The Birthday Party and The Master Builder, while on TV his credits include Edward VII, Hard Times, Churchill and The Generals, Brass, Blore MP, Beecham, and most recently The Alan Clarke Diaries, Bedtime and Bleak House.
This production of The Winslow Boy is directed by Stephen Unwin, founder of English Touring Theatre, now artistic director of the acclaimed Rose Theatre, Kingston.
Claire Cox, Diane Fletcher, Adrian Lukis, Sarah Flind, Thomas Howes, Roger May, John Sackville and Hugh Wyld support Timothy West.
The Winslow Boy runs at Malvern Theatres from Monday, June 30 to Saturday, July 4. To book, call the box office on 01684 892277 or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk
