LOCALLY based chartered surveyors and estate agents John Goodwin are pleased to announce the appointment of Rupert Chambers who joins them to add his experience to the professional valuation and auctioneering side of the business.

Born in Worcestershire Rupert spent his early years at Longdon before moving to Upton upon Severn in 1980. Having left school Rupert secured his first job with Messrs Arthur G Griffiths as a sales negotiator and remained with the firm which subsequently became Griffiths and Charles until their closure last month. During his 35 years with the firm undertaking professional valuations he has also extended his interest and love of auction sales and he has successfully developed a reputation for offering a caring and professional service to local solicitors and private vendors for the valuation and sale of contents, antiques and collectables organising regular auction sales. Toys and model railway are a particular favourite but he has an ever developing interest in the curious and collectable items which pass through the auction world.

Rupert is a qualified fellow member of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers and the National Association of Estate Agents.

"I am very much looking forward to joining a professional firm with such a good reputation and will continue to offer a good service to existing and new clients throughout the three counties. We intend to continue with auction sales at Drakes Broughton as well as the regular fine art and auction sales held at John Goodwin's regular venue at the Three Counties Showground. I am also looking forward to joining the residential sales and letting team in my home town of Upton aiming to bring my local knowledge for the benefit of vendors and landlords and helping the existing sales team continue to be a prominent firm of local estate agents in this area".

Rupert is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing cricket for Hanley Castle and Upton upon Severn. He is a lifelong railway and aviation enthusiast and also enjoys travelling, playing badminton and watching ice hockey. Rupert's claim to fame is his trip down the Innsbruck Olympic Bob Sleigh which he completed in 42.83 seconds – as a passenger not piloting.

Rupert can be contacted on 01684 593125.
