CONNELLS New Homes division is holding a Moving On Up campaign this month to promote the government backed Help to Buy scheme.

The scheme is available to first time buyers moving onto, or those wishing to move up, the property ladder to a maximum value of £600,000. Purchasers who qualify only require a 5% deposit and are given a 20% equity loan by the government, which is interest free for the first five years.

"Help to Buy is a tremendous scheme and probably the best incentive ever to be offered to the new homes market. It has been instrumental in boosting buyer confidence as well as giving prospective home owners the ability to buy the home of their dreams within budget" says Martin Pearce, local director at the Hereford branch. "With property prices still rising, moving onto or moving up the property ladder could be a very astute financial decision. Continued low interest rates and reduced stamp duty payments make buying a new home a very attractive proposition. Indeed, recent research suggests buyers are £742 or 9% a year better off on average compared to those who rent (source: Halifax)."

Connells has an excellent choice of new homes offered with the Help to Buy scheme – everything from studio apartments to five bedroom luxury detached homes:

Martin continues, "I would urge anyone who has been thinking of purchasing a property to contact their local Connells branch to determine if you qualify for Help to Buy and see what new homes are available for you to view."
