A CHARMING Great Western Railway country station converted to provide flexible accommodation, with planning permission to extend considerably.
A residence of unique character, it also has great potential for holiday accommodation or business, with good sized grounds extending to approximately 2.4 acres. From the platform there are panoramic views of Wall Hills.
The station was designed by William Clarke for the Great Western Railway and opened on September 15 1897. It was the first station on the line from Bromyard to Leominster. The station closed in 1952 and lay derelict until it was purchased in 1984 by the current owners and the restoration of the site won The British Rail Premier award in 1988.
The main station building has a kitchen diner, lounge, double bedroom, single bedroom and bathroom. The original parcel building has been converted into a studio with wood burning stove, cloakroom and a full height glass sliding door affording stunning views over the open countryside.
In 2010 a new building was built on the south side of the station. This consists of a restroom with en-suite shower, through the lobby is a large open space used as a garage workshop, utility area, shower room and toilet. Behind this building is a raised vegetable garden and large garden shed. The car parking area between the buildings will allow parking for up to six cars.
