PUPILS from Knighton, Presteigne, Gladestry, Whitton and Radnor Valley primary schools took part in an orienteering day on the school field at John Beddoes Newtown High School campus in Presteigne.
Children took part in a series of activities to learn orienteering skills. The year three, four, five and six children were led by Jody Owen, community sports development officer and members of the Mid Wales Orienteering club Bill Marlow and Terry Smith.
In the afternoon there was a competition where the children had to find various points around the field using the skills they had learned earlier in the day.
The winning school went on to the South Powys Orienteering championships in Nash Woods near Presteigne.
