A FORMER Kington pupil is to meet Prince Philip after completing the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
Darryn Edwards, a founder member of Lady Hawkins' School's Duke of Edinburgh Club, will receive his award from the prince at St James' Palace or Buckingham Palace in London later this year.
In honour of being the first ever Lady Hawkins student to complete all five sections of the award he was also presented with his badge from Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinator and head of science Reuben Thorley.
Darryn, a former sixth form student, has been working towards the scheme while on his gap year.
