A WORCESTERSHIRE town devastated by the summer floods is to receive a grant to help it get back on its feet.
A flashback to the July floods, when this Tenbury Wells public toilet collapsed into the water
Tenbury Wells is to hold its first social enterprise day, which will be funded by a grant of £1,500 from Social Enterprise West Midlands.
The company is part of the regional development agency Advantage West Midlands and the regional voice for social enterprise in West Midlands.
The grant will help Tenbury High School, local traders and enterprises in the town to finance an event during National Enterprise Week to celebrate the contribution of social enterprises and local traders, especially those whose premises were flooded in the summer.
It will be held between 10.15am and 3pm on Thursday, November 15, in the new purpose-built library and conference centre at Tenbury High School.
The event is one of several that the school will be holding in the run up to Christmas to help local businesses get back on their feet in time for the busy trading period.
Local social enterprises, such as Skill Builders and the Robert Owen Society, will be putting their goods and services on display for the day.
The school's business studies and humanities students will be demonstrating their enterprise work during the lunchtime event.
Business Link West Midlands will be present to advise traders about assistance available to help them get their businesses back to normal.
There will be tea and coffee throughout the day and a light lunch at lunchtime.
Event organiser, and social enterprise adviser,Dr Chris Newis, of the Robert Owen Society, said: "This is an opportunity for local traders to make sure that they are getting all the advice they need from Business Link and to look around the high-tech facilities that Tenbury High School has to offer to local businesses."
