NEWTOWN High School's John Beddoes Campus hosted a Christmas concert on December 17. It was a great success and was attended by a large number of people. Children of all ages performed to a mixture of family, pupils and staff. The singers and musicians also went to Presteigne Memorial Hall earlier in the week to perform in front of the Presteigne Evergreens who treated all the youngsters to lunch. On the last day of term the children performed in front of the rest of the pupils and staff at the school. On the night of the main concert a raffle was held to raise money for the bells of St Andrew’s Church in Presteigne. Special guests for the evening were the Clock Tower Hand Bell Ringers from Knighton who started the concert of with two pieces of music.

Kalvin Burrows, head of music at the school, thanked the hand bell ringers and praised the pupils for their hard work and excellent performances.
