South Herefordshire Cottage Garden Society

THE society has enjoyed this beautiful summer with an outing in June to Stocktonbury Gardens and Bryan’s Ground.

Stocktonbury has been in the Treasure family for three generations and after thirty years this four-acre garden is now home to mature plantings and offers plenty of inspiration.

Bryan’s Ground has three acres of intimate garden rooms, some with quirky follies, others with fragrant flowers. There are peaceful pools to meditate by and paths leading to five acres of specimen trees.

Both these gardens have much to offer and interest the discerning gardener.

In July, the members had their annual bring a plate supper and were once again blessed with a perfect summer evening and also the opportunity to visit two members’ gardens.

The next meeting is on Saturday at 2pm, at Walford village hall, and the speaker will be Elaine Horton.

Her subject will be ‘bulbs through the year’.

Do come and join us and see what other interesting events are planned for the rest of the year.

Please ring Tinker Parsons on 01989 561050 for information.
