A COUNTY National Trust property is set to turn back time as it showcases a collection of costumes from BBC's Pride and Prejudice from tomorrow.

Berrington Hall, near Leominster, is set to open its ‘Mr Darcy comes to Berrington’ collection for three months, as part of a year-long Georgian costume exhibition ‘A Thousand Fancies’.

Costumes for the 1995 TV show, starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth, were designed by BAFTA award winner Dinah Collins and provide a fascinating insight into the cultural and social traditions of the time.

The exhibition runs until Sunday November 2 and costumes can be seen from 11am until 4pm daily.

Croft Castle, meanwhile, will be bringing different eras to life.

On Friday August 8, Madcap Theatre group will be performing ‘Twelfth Night’ in the grounds of the castle.

And on Saturday 9 and Sunday Aug 10, a 40-strong living camp of men, women and children will bring the story of the Wars of the Roses to life during the annual medieval weekend.

Sir John Savile's Household, a medieval re-enactment group, will be re-creating skirmishes from the 1461 Battle of Mortimer’s Cross and visitors will see medieval cooking, stone masonry, apothecary, sewing, weaponry and more.

There will be daily drills for all ages to take part in.
