LEDBURY'S MP, Bill Wiggin has welcomed news of extra cash for local schools.

The MP for North Herefordshire welcomed the report that Herefordshire Council has been allocated an extra £2.9 million, as part of an additional £390 million cash boost provided by the Government to schools across the country.

Bill Wiggin MP said: "The children in Herefordshire deserve the very best schools so they can gain the skills they need to get on in life.That’s why I welcome this cash boost. It means our schools will get the resources they are entitled to and will help improve the quality of education for all children in North Herefordshire.

"This new money is part of our long-term economic plan to help all young people to have the best schools and skills so that they can succeed in life.”
