NEW president for Hereford Wye Valley Rotary Club.

David Evans inducted his successor Chris Starnes as president of the club.

Before David gave up the reins he thanked the club members for their support during his term of presidency and congratulated them on the support they gave to various charities and at the same time making the year one of fun.

The summer ball raised £4000 for the Air Ambulance, the Christmas concert raised £956 for the Rotary Polio Eradication Programme, the new year's ball raised £1207 and together with a donation of £793 we were able to donate £2000 to the Hereford Riding for the Disabled being the balance they required to purchase a motorised horse box, a film night raised £411 with which purchased a dental chair for the Niagara dental project, the proceeds from the shanty evening enabled a donation £925 to the Three Counties Acorns Children's Hospice and also £1617 to the Dominica Diabetic Foot Care Clinic.

On taking office Chris said he was looking forward to his year as president and congratulated David on a successful year and would endeavour to carry on the good work.
