THIS years Round Table ball at Lyde Arundel just outside Hereford was the culmination of nearly 12 months hard work by the Hereford club.

On a balmy Saturday evening the 280 guests were treated to champagne on the lawn before sitting down to a feast of food and cocktails from the boys from Shack Revolution and entertainment including a fantastic fireworks display and music from the brilliant Soul Supply.

“We have raised an outstanding £13,000 for local charitable causes which was made possible through the generosity of our invited guests and local businesses who donated an array of auction prizes” commented Gavin Williams chairman of Hereford City Round Table.

“The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric and Round Table members and our guests danced well into the early hours of Sunday morning. The success of the evening was in no small part down to the hard work of the fantastic group of Round Table members in the Hereford club who worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had an evening to remember.” Gavin continued to say.

The culmination of the evening was the auction which included such treats as a Mini for a week, a holiday cottage in France and a day at Phil Collins Rally Experience, the auction raised nearly £10,000.

Hereford Round Table is a modern movement with the members at its heart, the Round Table Movement today remains true to its founder’s vision, is proud of its successes, and more than ready to welcome the next generation.

Founded to give young men a place to meet, make friends, and exchange ideas, the Round Table is non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian, and has as much to offer men today as it did when it started in 1927.

As important as what the Round Table is, is what it isn’t, and if you think the Round Table is a closed, secret society that belongs to the past, you couldn’t be further from the truth. Much more than just a club or an association, the Round Table is a vibrant movement whose 8,000 members meet regularly in 600 clubs around the UK to see friends, have fun, and get involved in their local communities.

The energy that members bring to table forms friendships shapes lives and makes a lasting difference to many people beyond the movement itself.
