A WOMAN ended up in a hedge after being thrown from her car that crashed on the A4113 this morning.

Emergency services were called between Brampton Bryan and Knighton just after 9am.

In a statement, West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said that a 25-year-old woman was found lying in a field, behind a hedge.

The car, which was some distance away, sustained significant damage consistent with it rolling over.

“The woman, who was fully conscious and breathing, had sustained a head injury, multiple wounds and suspected fractures to both of her legs," said WMAS.

"Ambulance staff and the trauma doctor worked as a team to administer treatment.

"The trauma doctor administered advanced pain relief to help make the woman more comfortable whilst ambulance colleagues carefully immobilised her suspected fractures with splints.

“The woman was then airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, a major trauma centre, for further assessment and treatment.

"The woman was said to be in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.”
