A HEREFORD church has been sold.
Chandos Methodist Church was put on the market after it was deemed surplus to requirements.
Phil Ashman, from estate agent Sunderland and Thompsons confirmed this week that it has been bought by a local buyer for a figure slightly more than the £150,000 guide price.
Mr Ashman added that contracts had net yet been exchanged, but the parties are close to doing this.
The church was built in 1903 on the corner of Chandos Street and Whitehorse Street.
But, two years ago, its worshippers realised that they could not continue to maintain the building and the decision was taken to close.
The congregation has since moved to St John's Methodist Church in St Owen Street.
