THE inaugural Beer and Cider Festival organised by Ross Rotary and Ross Lions was blessed with glorious weather and raised over £2,000 for local charities and good causes.

The two day event was a great success. The selection of local beers, ciders and perries and the live music was highly praised by all who attended.

There were 22 different beers ranging from pale ales to dark stouts. The most popular was Old Prickly from Hobson’s Brewery which sold in excess of 120 pints.

In addition there were 12 ciders and perries, which went down very well, with two of the perries selling out on Saturday and fresh stocks having to be delivered for Sunday.

It was estimated that over 2,500 pints were sold and around 700 people attended the festival over its two days.

On Saturday the excellent entertainment was provided by Emily Howard from Exeter and Gareth Forsyth from Malvern and on by Sunday George Breakfast who hails from Cambridge.

Ross Rotary and Ross Lions sincerely thank everyone who attended and made it the success it undoubtedly was, and Ross Rowing Club for providing the venue.
