AN online petition is calling for Herefordshire Council to reverse its decision on reducing grass-cutting in the county.

The petition, launched yesterday, has already received more than 400 signatures and campaigners hope to persuade the council to restore the county back to a "more attractive standard".

The Hereford Times has previously reported how Herefordshire Council has decided to send mowers out on many sites only three times a year when they were previously trimmed on seven occasions.

The local authority says the cuts will save £1.25m per year.

There are fears the move will have an impact on tourism, as well as anger regarding the level of council tax paid compared to services provided.
