MANY people in Hereford cannot wait for the city's new retail development to open according to a poll conducted by the Hereford Times.

On Friday, we asked you what your thoughts were about the impending opening on April 17.

A total of 762 votes were cast and nearly half, 49 per cent, said that they cannot wait for the opening - adding that it is something that the city needs.

Debenhams, Waitrose TK Maxx, Next, L'Occitane, Fatface, Clarks and Costa are all due to open their doors on that Thursday, while Nandos confirmed at the weekend that it will be opening on Wednesday, May 14.

A new multi-screen Odeon cinema, as well as a selection of restaurants, will also open in the coming months, with H&M set to be the final store to open in the autumn.

However, it seems that the new centre has not got everyone in Hereford excited.

Thirty-three per cent of people said that it is "just another shopping centre", while 19 per cent said that they will not visit the site on principle because it will impact on the city's existing traders.
