ONE baby boy will surely grow up to be football crazy after being born right outside Hereford United's ground.
Jayden Gaine was delivered in the back of an ambulance in the Merton Meadow car park at 2.20am last Thursday.
"I went to Hereford County Hospital at 10.30pm the previous night, but was only 3cm dilated, so was told to go home," said Jayden's mum Clare Pugh.
"But, I had to ring 999 at 1.15am because I was in full labour.
"I didn't make it to the hospital though - the ambulance had to pull into the car park.
Jayden was delivered at the roadside before mother and baby were taken straight to Hereford County Hospital.
Clare, aged 24, and her partner Tim Gaine, 22, who are from Leominster, have two other children - Marnie, six, and Morgan, five.
But the chances of Jayden growing up to be a Hereford United fan are slim - Tim is an avid Manchester United supporter, while Clare has never seen the Bulls play.
"I didn't expect the labour to be as quick as it was, but after only two pushes, he was out," said Clare.
"I dilated pretty quickly, so I don't think that I should have been sent home.
"But, Jayden has been brilliant and has settled really well."
